| 14/Mar/2011 [Japan Earthquake]Tourism Situation in Hokkaido Hokkaido Tourism Organization announced about Tourism Situation for people planning to visit Hokkaido. 14 March 2011 Dear all, Due to massive earthquakes which hit the northeast Japan in the afternoon of 11th March, some ports and tourism facilities in Hokkaido were flooded by tsunami tidal waves which struck the area along the coast of the Pacific Ocean. All the tsunami alerts and warnings by the Meteorological Agency had been cancelled by now and damaged facilities are under repair. Flight and railway services as well as expressways and national highways resume normal services except for limited routes, consequently there is hardly any difficulty to travel or stay in Hokkaido. As for the nuclear power plants in Fukushima, there is reportedly a low risk that the blasts cause any particular influence on Hokkaido for the time being. We would like to express our sincere appreciation to all the countries and people that have offered kind support to Japan. Hokkaido Tourism Organization http://en.visit-hokkaido.jp/ |

| 21/Jan/2011 Kururuno Mori Farm Restaurant I visited Kururuno Mori Farm Restaurant. They are very careful in selecting the materials for their dishes in the restaurant, using fresh vegitables , meat and eggs that sent directly from the farm. Made from fresh food, they also like to simply convey farmar's desires and aims to us that we can enjoy healthy food in safe. It is not so much fancy food as home-made dishes they serve though, that's more like it to enjoy local food.
