The four bracts are spread like flower petals upon the six verticillate leaves, and in the centre of these bracts are 10 to 25 little flowers standing in circles. The berries turn vivid red when they ripen and people get great pleasure when viewing these as they look like tiny figures poking their heads up above the green leaves. The flowering season is from June to July.
