With a small flower shaped like a bell, this 5cm high creeping plant has string-like stems with leaves similar to scales set in four lines. They grow in rocky areas and in the joints of rocks high in mountains. This plant looks similar to whiskers covering rocks, which gives it the name Iwahige, meaning ‘whiskers on the rocks.’ The flowering season is from July to August.
