A train trip with a winter view of the Sea of Okhotsk
This is a seasonal service available during the time drift ice arrives at the shore of Hokkaido in the Sea of Okhotsk. Twice a day, the Ryuhyo Norokko Go travels along the coastline, back and forth between JR Abashiri Station and JR Shiretoko Shari Station. Its observation car has large bench seats facing large windows so that the passengers can enjoy the view from the window. Another special feature of this train is the round heaters installed in all cars except the first car. You can buy dried squid in the train and roast it with the heater for a snack.
