Suttsu town, a town where you can feel the history and romance of the ocean
This modern, chic roadside station opened very recently, in April 2008. Built facing the fishing harbour, you can enjoy the sound of lapping waves and seabirds as you take a well-earned break from your long drive. Inside the station you can see a display of many traditional fishing tools and implements, or use the state-of-the-art monitors to pick up local tourist information. In the store, you can find a simply huge range of products made from delicious local, fresh ingredients, including “Namayaki whitebait in soy sauce”, which has been a famous local product for over 80 years, freshly caught Hokke (Arabesque greenling), Hokke coated in rice-bran, and other sumptuous treats that you simply cannot find anywhere else.
