Opened on November 17th 2006! The main building of the “Fuwatto Tomamae” roadside station that is located on Route 232 stands out from afar because of its unique concrete and glass construction, with a white, rounded roof that resembles a baseball stadium. The reason behind the name “Roadside Station Fuwatto Tomamae” is the fact that wind power generators are the town’s symbol, therefore the “Fu” section of the name comes from the Japanese for “wind”, and “Watto” is the Japanese pronunciation of the unit of power, “watt”. The roadside station has a wide range of facilities for you to enjoy. The restaurant “Fuumu” has a fantastic menu that is packed with dishes made with fresh local ingredients, and the lounge “Wind Mill” is used as a café lounge during the day with views of Meotojima, Teurito and Yagishirito islands, and as a bar lounge at nighttime.
