These tearooms are located inside a renovated pawnshop building, which is said to have been left by Setsuko, the wife of Ishikawa Takuboku. The ground floor is western style seating, while the first floor is Japanese style tatami mats. While soaking up the history of Hakkodate inside the tearooms, you can sample a mouth-watering homemade waffle, or one of the 6 varieties of parfait. We recommend ordering one of the “cream anmitsu” or tea sets, and enjoying the historical surroundings.
