The place where the Seikan Tunnel faces the bottom of the ocean
This roadside station has a memorial hall named “ Yokoduna Chuonoyama and Yokozuna Chiyonoyama Memorial Hall” dedicated to the 41st Yokozuna (Sumo grand champion) Chiyonoyama and the 58th Yokozuna (Sumo grand champion) Chiyonofuji, who were both born in Fukushima Town. The Produce Center sells delicious Japanese common squid, of which this area is proud of being Japan’s largest producer. Many products sold here are processed marine products, in particular you should look out for the Konbu, as it is brought in directly from the factory and therefore sold at super cheap prices!
