Mt Kurodake in the Taisetsuzan mountain range can be reached from Sounkyo Onsen District by ropeway and lift. The lift takes you to the seventh stage of Mt Kurodake with which you are then presented with an outstandingly impressive view. If you don’t have enough time, try the ropeway which gives you a panoramic view from 1,300m above sea level and its only a half an hour round-trip. The ropeway is operated from 6.00 in the morning from June to mid-October, offering you a spectacular view surrounded by the morning haze.
