Enjoy a view of alpine flowers and autumn foliage from the gondola
The ride takes about 10 minutes between Sanroku Station at 1,100 meters above sea level and Sugatami Station at 1,600 meters above sea level. From the gondola, you can enjoy a breathtaking panorama of the beautiful Mt. Asahidake that truly lets you feel the power of nature. The Daisetsuzan Mountains that the Ainu people call “God’s Yard” is a heaven for alpine plants whose flowers fully bloom between June and August. The mountain also has wonderful autumn foliage. In September and October, the mountain surface turns red and yellow.
