Not only is Yunokawa onsen one of the rare regions that offer the mysterious red baths, it is also the first excavated site of the very bath that Toshizo Hijikata (Shinsengumi), a famous historical figure of the Goryokaku war, had used. Not only does the topmost floor’s panoramic outdoor hot spring offer you an unobstructed view of the Tsugaru Straits, Hakodate Mountain and Hakodate Airport can also be spotted. The two floors high vaulted ceiling of the spacious lobby allows the gentle lights of the four season to enter and takes away your travails of travel.
