This is a multipurpose dome for all weather conditions where a variety of events take place, including concerts and baseball and soccer games. In 2006, many people visited the dome, especially because the Hokkaido Nippon Ham Fighters won the Japan Series. There are shops, restaurants and an observatory in the dome. It has the world's first air “hovering mobile system" that allows the natural grass soccer stage to move between the closed arena and the open-air arena. This enables the spectators to comfortably watch home games of Consadole Sapporo.
