Enjoy the view from the nature trail near the Ishikari rivermouth bridge
Upstream from the Ishikari rivermouth, in the Makunbetsu wetlands, lies this Asian skunk cabbage colony, spreading across approximately 40 hectares of land. You can catch a glimpse of the white figures of these Asian skunk cabbages lying neatly between the alder trees from a 1.5-kilometer nature trail maintained along the embankment. These are best viewed from the end of April to the beginning of May.
