View spot perfect for enjoying the sights of the Sea of Japan
Located directly on Route 229, which is a coastal road, Genna Dai is constructed 40 meters above sea level with fantastic views of the Sea of Japan. Close by is the “Genna Dai Beachfront Park” that contains an exceptionally rare seawater swimming pool, as is the “Shibinomisaki” Hokkaido Natural Monument. Directly behind the roadside station is a rest area that has simply unsurpassable views of the ocean. If you can, time your visit so you reach here in time to see the superb view of the setting sun. And while here, make sure you take a walk onto the viewing platform to see the bronze monument of the “Tide Flute”.
