Natural park sprinkled with oddly-shaped rocks and stone markers
Kamome Island's name comes from its shape, which looks like a seagull (kamome) taking flight. This island, arranged as a park, has traces of the legends of Benkei and the white horse of Yoshitsune, which is said to have turned into a stone in the park. Along with other legends of Yoshitsune, the land is scattered with other odd rocks and stone monuments, such as an Esashi forked road marker. It is a long walk from the parking lot to the shore, so we recommend that you bring shoes that are easy to walk in.
