The Makkari Flower Center that was originally opened in 1997 was completely renovated and reopened on April 28th 2006. Located midway between Niseko Town and Rusutsu Town on the Iwauchi Touya road, this roadside station has views of Mt. Yotei to the north, and a number of facilities including a center house, greenhouse, round house, and toilet wing, all surrounded by soothing lawns and flowerbeds. Flowers are sold directly to the public either as cut flowers or in flowerpots, as are edible plants, potatoes, and other such agricultural products that change depending on the season.
