All of the delights and flavours of the great outdoors
Located between Sapporo and Hakodate, this roadside station commands spectacular views of the Niseko mountain range and Mt. Yotei. The shop sells a wide range of fresh and processed local farm produce and fish from the crystal clear Shiribetsu River. However, the combination of excellent manufacturing techniques along with carefully selected dairy products makes the ice cream on sale here extremely popular with tourists and locals alike. There are campsites, bungalows and park golf courses nearby. In Rankoshi town, a simple-looking town surrounded by towering mountains and clear running rivers has a number of hot spring facilities. “Yukichichibu” is one of the 11 natural outdoor baths that offers a view of Chisenepuri, and is popular as a reasonably priced local hotel operated by the local government. “Ranko Izumi Kaku” is a hot spring that has existed in the town for many years, and remains very popular with town residents and residents of neighboring towns. The area sees its greatest number of guests during the summer for golf, and during the winter for skiing on the Chisenupuri Ski Hills. After getting your fill of the beautiful nature, drop by the roadside station to pick up some delicious local produce and a few special souvenirs.
